1.  Locate and list Linux file to be rename using ls command.

list Linux file to be rename

[linux@fedora11 ~]$ ls

Desktop    learn-create-directory  Pictures   Videos

Documents  linux_file.txt          Public

Download   Music                   Templates

[linux@fedora11 ~]$

 

2.  To rename Linux files, type in mv command, the filename that you want to rename and new file name.. on the example below, we rename Linux file linux_files.txt to rename_linux_files.txt

3.  Use ls command to verify that the procedure to rename Linux files successfully done...
